Project Overview

As part of S.Point’s expansion into consumer lifestyle products, I worked on the design development of the Live Light Active Bag. The goal was to create a lightweight and highly portable bag suited for active, everyday movement between work, gym, travel, and leisure.

The design explores a modern interpretation of the utilitarian tote. Rather than creating a bulky sports bag, the intention was to design a minimal, flexible carry solution that could adapt to different lifestyles and activities.

The result is a bag that balances practicality and simplicity. Its lightweight construction and waterproof material allow it to function as an everyday carry accessory while remaining easy to pack, store, and transport when not in use.

Designing for Lightweight Mobility

The concept behind the bag was rooted in portability. Many activity bags are designed primarily for storage, often becoming bulky and inconvenient when not in use.

The Live Light Active Bag was designed differently. The objective was to create a bag that feels almost invisible when carried, prioritising lightness and flexibility while still offering practical storage.

This led to a design that focuses on:

  • Lightweight construction

  • Ultra portable structure

  • Waterproof material for everyday durability

  • A clean utilitarian aesthetic

The bag takes inspiration from classic utilitarian carry bags but reinterprets them with a more contemporary approach.

A Modern Utilitarian Tote

Instead of rigid structure or heavy materials, the design emphasises soft form, flexibility, and adaptability. This allows the bag to be easily folded or packed when not required, making it suitable for travel or daily commuting.

Reflection

Working on the Live Light Active Bag allowed me to explore physical product design beyond digital experiences. The project required thinking through materials, portability, and how objects integrate into everyday routines.

Designing a simple object like a bag highlights how small decisions around weight, structure, and usability can significantly influence how a product feels in daily use. The experience reinforced my interest in designing products that combine functionality, simplicity, and lifestyle integration.
