Project Overview
Imondi, a British-owned, Shanghai-based flooring company, is renowned for its innovative and sustainable approach to design. With in-house design and production facilities, Imondi partners with leading designers and architects worldwide to create exceptional flooring solutions.
Role
I was tasked with designing a series of brochures for Imondi’s new collection, showcasing their reclaimed wood flooring. Drawing inspiration from various global regions, these brochures highlighted the unique beauty and craftsmanship of reclaimed wood sourced from around the world.
Objective
The brochures for Imondi emphasized the brand’s commitment to sustainability by highlighting their reclaimed wood products, prominently used in high-profile retail, hospitality, and residential spaces. The design featured a minimalistic theme, printed on recycled paper to reinforce the sustainable focus of the collection.
Colours, typography, and imagery were meticulously chosen to evoke a sense of nostalgia, capturing the unique story, history, and journey behind each piece of wood.
Reflection
Understanding the story behind each Imondi wooden plank and its transformation into reclaimed flooring was a fascinating experience. With clear guidance and insights from the brand’s owners, I was able to design the brochures in a way that truly reflected their vision.
The most rewarding aspect of this project was its impact. Not only did it lead to additional projects with Imondi and its partners, but the brochure layouts I designed were also used for the next four years, highlighting the longevity and effectiveness of the design I delivered.
